What is hair loss?
Hair loss, also known as alopecia, has many causes and there are varying types. It is common to lose about 100-150 hairs per day. But, if you notice excessive thinning or balding you may be experiencing abnormal hair loss.
What are the signs of hair loss?
As hair loss types may vary, there are a wide range of symptoms. The most common sign and type of hair loss is gradual thinning on the top of the head. Some people may notice circular or patchy bald spots, or full body hair loss.
What causes hair loss?
There is no one single cause of hair loss. It varies from person to person. Some causes can be: hormones, genes, stress, illness, childbirth, medications, and certain hairstyles.
